  • Stuff on the Road...what did you see today?

Ok so I'm on the Freeway behind a truck...big truck...and all of a sudden a piece of shattered wood comes flying at me...simple swerve and now its behind me...about 1/2 mile later...2 blocks of wood just lying there in the road...another little swerve...and I avoided it...making a left hand turn and right in my path a 1 to 1 1/2 inch bolt...just lying there...man there is a lot of crap in the road....

      Dead

      Dead Pheasant
      Dead Cat
      Dead Raccoon
      Dead Porcupine
      Unidentified Carcas of some kind.
      Dead Skunk

And that was within the three mile drive to work.

When ever I'm broken down, which thankfully isn't often, I'm just amazed at the stuff you see in the center divider and road in general...

Last time I was broken down there were about 3000 cigarette butts in about 10 feet of the 55 freeway I was standing in...I was up to my neck in butts...

Wishing everyone on KR the best...

Lots of tire pieces and carcasses! especially in the summer here in the desert. That asphalt gets upwards of 150 F midday in july and august.

Geeeze, shower already. You're killing all the wildlife, even the skunks can't stand it

                    Today: nothing

                    In the past:
A full side-by-side fridgedaire, a washing machine box (sans washing machine, fortunately), umpteen million tire carcasses, several cinderblocks, a few 5 gallon buckets of either paint or roofing nails (I've seen both), 4x4 & 2x4 lumber, a couch, a tire & rim off a trailer (bounced straight up about 50 feet before heading groundward again), etc, etc. The list has gotten so long that I stopped paying attention to memorizing the stuff...

                    Cheers
