  • Gasoline Shower...

I just took a gasoline shower on the way home...
Well not really a shower but enough to **** me off..
I popped a wheelie to demonstrate to a friend and all of a sudden I was wet with gasoline... I stopped and opened my gas cap to see whats up and surprise im missing the rubber thingamajiggy.. I went to the nearest autozone but they dont carry them...

    any suggestions?

I'm impressed that you could pop a wheelie with your kat. I sometimes pretend to do that.

      ...

power wheelies don't work so well with my kat so I just slip the clutch to pop it up and just hold the balance point... its really hard to hold the balance cause its really heavy..

Neoprene washer, like 3" in diameter and cut out the center, not pretty but it works. Sorry I don't have a pic and can't get to the bike right now.

                      Simple Solution

I Bought 2 Thermostat Gaskets from AutoZone

I Took One Of the Gaskets and Heated it around a little bit with my lighter
and when it was hot enough then i took the other gasket and stick it with the other one and let it cool..

They should stay together if you did it right and make sure you dont melt it or in anyway deform it..

When It was cooled up I just slap it in... it fits perfectly without trimming what soever and it seals the gas in and does not drip even 1 drop

Tested by hanging the tank upside down for 30 mins...
Opened the cap and check if the gaskets were deformed by gasoline
                      no traces of damage...

You should leak a little gas if you turned it upside down, if not you have a venting problem.

oh well I guess I screwed up again...
well atleast it doesn't leak gas on turns and wheelies anymore

The vent is in the cap not the seal, so you might run into vapor lock issues now.
