Has anyone purchase the renntec rack for a post kat? I have a 2000 750 and am wanting to buy a rack to store crap for longer trips. I was looking at this one:

It looks like it bolts to the rear grab bar and to where the under seat grab rails attach (which a previous owner have conveniently removed). Can anyone offer any opinions of this rack, or one similar that is better? Thanks
It's all good! It's goody good!

Not on a post, but had a Renntec rack on a Pre at one point and it was absolutely faultless.

I have one but it does not have the goofy braces on the sides, it just bolts on same as the grab bar would.

Does this seem pretty secure without those braces?

          Yes mine is very strong.
Although the most I have put on it was a 5 man tent, bed roll, sleeping bag etc
          OR
          my goalie pads and stick.

The guy I got it from once strapped motorcycle battery and his books from school in there

If I remember rightly, my Pre one came with a recommended max weight load of 5.6kg, but could easily take double that safely if strapped down well.

That should work. I'm planning on going to Mt. Rushmore early next summer (600 + miles one way) and need to find a good way to stow crap. I can't use saddle bags as one of the previous owner's drilled holes and placed flush-mount blinkers on the bike, which look good, but would be covered by the bags.

grab a cheap pair of cruiser saddle bags
thats what I use and they would work well with flush mount signals mounted near the back of the bike
I just lay the saddle bags on the passenger seat and put my tail bag on top of that to hold it on. I can haul enough gear thanks to the juggage rack, for a week on the road.

                      I almost like that idea!
You could put something behind the tail bag that way.

Anyone have a pic with the rack installed?
