  • Got the motor in the frame and studs back in place. Went pretty smooth all in all. It's rained off and on, so I had to push a couple bikes up under my already crowded carport at this time. It's just me working on it so I'm not speedy gonzales. Got enough done for today and still got grass cut and kept the wife happy.

Just about ready for the top end. Going to install some new valve seals before I put it on. I know it doesn't leak but while I got it out I may as well do it right.

        • Work summoned me today, so only had a couple hours to play. I did manage to get the pistons installed on the rods with new clips. Got a little screwdriver I slotted to work with snap rings and such. Also used the little forks to hold middle two pistons in place, I hang a wrench off the crank and use that in down stroke to hold it. Then i used another screwdriver I rounded on my grinder to rid any sharp edges and just followed the rings around pushing them in the slot as the weight of cylinders dropped it over the rings with no problem. Cover it back up and wait till tomorrow, going to shoot some copper on new head gasket and let it hang up tonight and get tacky before I stick it on tomorrow.

                        • Great job on that super sport. You still have that one, those are some nice bikes?

That tri-color red and pearl white is trick to get just right. I did one a few years back, not nearly as nice as yours. Mine was even rougher if you can believe it. Think I got if for 150 bucks. Passed it several times leaned up against a shed on my way to New Orleans. One winter I could see through the briars and stopped and picked it up.

Trying to take my time on this one. It's been five years so far what the hay.

                          Going to have stainless supertrapps.

                          • I just sold my 1100F to a good friend last month. It took about 4 years to finish it but I had to sell it to buy this:

I just love air cooled Japanese multis!

                            • That is one serious machine. I get it, for sure.

No Katana porn tonight. My son got t-boned on the highway this morning. He is a little sore but OK and looking for a replacement vehicle. Totaled his Nissan. Been a long day and working on the bike just didn't prioritize today.

Discovered my clutch came in this afternoon and the basket looks good as well as everything else that came with it. Aluminum discs with lots of meat that I didn't really expect. May soak them in ATF and give them another look in a few days.

Had a nice little run of work this last couple weeks. Going to regroup and get the head and cams installed and finished up.
