  • Air Filter

I am looking to replace my air filter. I read some threads on it and starts to get an understanding of some DOs and DONTs. So, it seems that it is not recommended to get a K&N filter. I guess I will stick with a stock one. I found a stock one at a local bike shop for around $50. However, i found plenty on ebay for half of that price. But they are not exactly OEM. Would those on ebay do the job?

    for example, this one

Any filter that says this... Cheap way to gain some HP and fuel mileage!... is probably not a great idea on CV carbs.

HiFlo are actually reasonable quality and while they seem to be in bed with K&N (especially with oil filters), that is not a K&N style air filter - it's a paper filter. I expect the reference to gaining HP and mileage is in relation to an old clogged filter. I've run that filter on my pre with absolutely no issues.

The dealer gave me HiFlo as a factory replacement.
