Hopefully I am posting this in the right forum. I have searched the forums and haven't found any info on this, so maybe its normal for a Katana. I just bought an '02 Katana 600 and have noticed that the front of the seat near the gas tank seems to be pretty loose. I can lift it up about and inch and wiggle it around quite a bit, but it locks in the back perfectly fine. There doesn't seem to be any missing or broken clips, so I am wondering if I'm missing something or if this is just normal since the seat is so easy to take off and put on? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Take a pic of the bottom of the seat, and from the top of the bike with the seat removed... post them here, and we can probably help to resolve the issue for you.

Here are some links to pics of underneath the seat and the bike with the seat off. I can't post the actual pictures for some reason, I think they are too big.

I notice there are no rubber pads, so maybe that's the cause of it being kind of loose? Let me know if more pics or pics from a different angle would help better. Thanks for any info you might have!Last edited by brmcconn; 04-23-2010, 01:36 PM.

Yep... called "cushion seat" for the part, bikebandit.com has them for $2.30 a pop.

Awesome, thanks for the help rexazz2 and Kreylyn! Any idea what the differences are between these item numbers on bikebandit? Or which is the correct one to order?
7246701-001
7342998-001
7366102-001
500205-001
They all say they're for a katana, the schematics appear to be the same, and they're all $2.30. Also, would I need to order 4 of them at $2.30 each? Or is $2.30 for all 4 bumpers?

Per the parts list for the 02 600 kat, part 500205-001 is the correct one (only one listed on that parts fiche).
Differences would be in size and placements for other year bikes. Some of these cushions are used on many bikes over 30 years of all different models.

Got the seat cushions in the mail from bikebandit today. Popped right in and worked like a charm. Seat is nice and snug now. Thanks again for the help. Now all I have to do is try and fine someone who could recover the seat with new vinyl or something. There are a couple small tears on the bottom edges from it rubbing on the bike so much. Electrical tape doesn't quite cut it ha ha
