  • Luggage rack

I'm preparing to go on a trip, so I built this little luggage rack. It bolts over the pillion handle, and can be folded down for more of a saddle-bag approach. The holes are for bungee hooks. The bolts will also allow it to fold if the bike is laid down

I welded a stack of washers together then ground them off at an angle so that it would mount flat to the handle. A nylon washer keeps it from rubbing on the handle.

Interesting solution. What's the size/strength on the flat-bar you used?

    Cheers

Plain steel you can get at Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace Hardware, 1/8" x 1". The holes are about 5/16".

            That's a niffty rack.

I've been pondering a rack made out of aluminum L-angle to fit over the pillion for the purpose of mounting a 3 or so gallon fuel cell.

Throw a steel mesh where that cross bar is and you could carry just about anything with that and a simple bungie cargo net.

                Nice work
