    27-52-206. Exception for motorcycles.
    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if a driver of a motorcycle approaches an intersection that is controlled by a traffic-control device, the driver may proceed through the intersection on a red light only if:
    (1) The traffic-control device uses a vehicle sensor;

    (2) The vehicle sensor has failed to detect the motorcycle because of the motorcycle's size or weight; and

    (3) The driver:

    (A) Comes to a full and complete stop at the intersection;

    (B) Exercises due care as provided by law; and

    (C) Proceeds with caution through the intersection when it is safe to do so.

    History. Acts 2005, No. 1886, § 1.

    Put the number 27-52-206 in the search box to see the actual law on the Arkansas government website. You might want to print a copy of this if you intend to practice this. Some law officers may not be aware of this “biker-friendly” law J

            Is there a way to tell the light has a sensor? I can see this being an issue with cops/tickets/traffic court.

                  Where i live, all of them have that sensor so no problem, but yea there is a big square cut out where they laid the sensor and then filled it in with some sort of tar substance so its e z to tell but at night might be a lil hard.

                          A wonderful product from 3M called the Opti-com. You need a special light (legally only available to Fire/Police/EMS vehicles) to trigger the sensor. All directions turn red EXCEPT for the one with the light (to allow traffic to clear for the emergency vehicle).

                            ..but you know PA, we'll be the last to ever consider this..

                            You can use an earth magnet to help trigger the light but they dont always work. You can also put your kick stand down over the sensor, that sometimes helps too.
