  • ignition key sticking in ignition

I can put the key in the ignition fine, but its hard to turn to the on position, and its even hard to try to get it out; I have to jiggle it for about a min to get it to turn to the on position, and do the same for about 5 mins to get the key out of the ignition; will WD40 do the trick, or is there something more specific and appropriate for solving this problem???

Don't use WD-40. Go get some graphite lube (like used in door locks) if it's just stiff, and not an actual mechanical issue with the switch, it should help.

Hapened to me a few years back. I use chain oil. Works like a charm

I have an 88 that did the same thing, tried everything but still had to replace the ignition. Found a brand new one on ebay for $30with new pre cut keys. Best of luck

Best stuff I've found for locks. Keeps them from freezing in cold temps as well.
