how can I remove the factory decal?

  • #2
Blow dryer, heat and peel. Use wd-40 or goo gone to get the sticky off.

goof off and heat works good, but they are a bugger to get off. the suzuki on the tank has clear coat over it and is really hard to get off.

Ok guys, I did the heat and peel to take off the Katana and 600 stickers. Tried the goo-gone. Waste of money there. Still have the sticky-hard residue in four areas and need a freakin` solution to this without scratching the plastic or black-off ! Not trying to be complicated either. Thanks. . . . . Thanks Steves, Read that post too. . . . just trying to NOT waste any money here. The residue isnt easy to remove. It has been on there since 1996.

I used a hairdryer and a razor blade, it came off pretty easily.

I used the goo-gone and an old credit card, it worked better than other plastic scrapers. Peeled off the heavy glue residue pretty good. Then a little elbow grease and rag to completely erase it. Good Luck.

Rubing alcohol and goo gone made mine go away.

I had the same issue. spray a little goo gone over the residue and sprya some goo gone on a soft cloth and lay the cloth over the residue for 10min then start to scrub. Goo gone will work but you need to take your time.
