Default 2008 GSXF 650 fuel tank replacement.

Apologies if repost, I searched.

What model bikes have a tank that can replace mine? I'm assuming GSXR used the same fuel pump/filter and tank.

What model years will be a direct fit replacement?

Back story:
The bike was sitting up for 4 years. Pulled the tank to drain the fuel and it was rusted throughout.

Unsure of what my options are, I'm thinking it's best to replace the entire tank. Every ounce of fuel (2+ gallons worth) is rust colored. The mount for the pump and filter is rusted too.

i Wouldn’t be surprised if it was specific to that bike. It was a reserection project.

Ugh, I hope not. That's going to make it much harder to find.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Question

If it's rusty, POR-15 can fix that for you. Works great, done it on 2 bikes so far. Not sure about the fuel pump/filter. You can look up the part # on a site like bikebandit.com and cross reference it to see if any other bikes use those...

For the pump mount, the por-15 kit would be able to remove the rust, but I'm not familiar with that set up. Not sure what else might be rusted if that mount is, and whether por 15 or replacement would be a better bet.

Electrolysis treatment, followed by POR15 would work wonders on the tank.
