pre 98 kats: busa shock/gixxer wheel installed

shock was a 99-06 hayabusa and was not a direct bolt in. the battery box needs to be moved back and the undertray cut to make room for battery box. the rest is bolt-on... raised rear 1 1/2 -2 inches great for heavy/two-up riding.





rear wheel is a 89 gsx-r750. it is not a direct swap. i found this write up helpful.

How exactly did you "move" the battery box ? Drill new holes for it ?

Hmmm , sounds easier than the shaving of the pivot deal that you have to do to make the gsxr1100 shock fit ...

One thing to watch for:
After moving the battery box back it reduces the room
above it to the seat. I attemped to make spacers.
Since the battery box fits under the tank bracket
I made 1/4 thick spacers with tapped holes for the battery box.
Problem was with the battery just 1/4 higher the seat hit it.
Now this may not be an issue with the 600.

So do a test fit, I figure if 1/4 was too much that means there is about
1/8" between the top of the battery and the seat..

Yes.. But I do need to add the caution about the battery..
