That isn't what we mean by "Gearing up"

Moving to "Tire Talk, chain and sprockets.."

I wanted a more relaxed cruising rpm so I went one up on the front, to 16. Stock was a 15/45 setup. It knocked a few hundred rpm off at 65 ish and I even picked up a mpg or 2. A noticeable but not annoying difference when taking off from a stop but still easy to ride even 2 up.
My bike is an 04 750.

I wanted more acceleration so I went with 14/50. I loved it around town, highway was a little rough though, 90mph at around 9k rpm IIRC.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.
