  • not sure what to make of this?

So I git my 91 kat running and have been driving it now everyday for like a month or a little less. I noticed though that if I stop hard or if I'm at a stop and rock the bike back and forth it will want to stall out. I bump the throttle and it will be fine but it does it every time. Not sure if this is a float related problem or what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

could be a float, had s similar prob in my 90 600. Turned out to be a kink in my fuel line cause the line was too short. gas would run fine if it was throttled up but at an idle it had trouble running sometimes. put in some new lines and it worked like a charm.

      Is the clutch adjusted properly?

You might have crap in the float bowls floating around in there and when you shake it, it cause it move around.

I do want to pull the carbs and check them again soon. I just cleaned the crap out of them a few weeks ago but I'd like to take a look now that I've been using the bike for 3 weeks straight. I do have a slight kink in my carbs 1&2 fuel line so I need to get the proper fuel filter for that and get the kink out. the clutch cable needs to be replaced I believe...I do have to much movement on the lever even with friction plate adjustment and cable adjustment. The cable and discs will be replaced at the end of this riding season.

Make sure your tank is rusty.

the tank does have some light rust. I have sand and distilled water. I have to paper filters on the fuel lines right now. Gonna wet sand the tank at the end of the season.
