  • Idle sticking at 2.5k to 3k

Hi everyone, need your help with the idle on my kat.

Problem: starts and warms up fine. Once I ride it for a few minutes and go over 4K + RPM she'll only idle back down to about 2.5k RPM. I can bring the RPMs down by pressing on the brake and releasing the clutch for a second or two and she'll idle normal again. I'll have to do this every time I come to a stop. Also, the high RPMs get in the way when downshifting.
    Kat is a 98 600
(I tried searching for a thread with a similar problem before posting up, but could not find one. )
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Your pilot circuit is lean. Reasons for this could be...

    Dirty pilot jets
Aftermarket exhaust with out tuning the carbs
    Vacuum/Airbox leaks
    Improperly tuned carbs

      thanks for the reply Krey.
It's a stock exhaust, so I'll start by checking for leaks (any tips on how to go about this).
      Thanks!
