i also have one of the original seats off an '82 kat. it is not actually suede. the seat is coated with textured rubatone like material. mine has some worn patches where the texture has gone smooth. seemed a shame to destroy the original finish, so i opted to buy a new seat rather than upholster or paint over the antique.

i'd call mine a 7 out of 10. anyone know how to properly restore these? i could experiment with modern textured paints, but i don't have a mint original to compare to.
