For outside winter storage I would look into something like this myself. http://www.thebikebarn.net/standardmodel.html

A little on the expensive side, but looks like it would hold up to snow, rain and wind better than a regular bike cover.

You can not go wrong with a Nelson-Rigg one, Dowco. There are alot of covers out there that are great quality. I mention those b/c I have 2 on the bikes I have right now. I sell the dowco ones at Cycle Gear. They are of the same quality as the Nelson Rigg ones.

I have a dowco guardian underneath half of my cyclevault.

            its THE BIKE COVER.

dowco guardian is cool because it has an alarm you can clip onto your brake rotor, so if someone tries to steal your cover damn loud noise

I have this, and while I actually don't store the bike in it during the winter (splurged on heated storage this year because it was a good deal) I can attest to the quality workmanship. It holds up extremely well to the elements, and a nice bonus is you don't have to worry about hot pipes when parking it for the evening, you just ride it in and close 'er up.

              Worth the price IMO!

Dowco covers are great, I havent had a bit of problem with mine..no stitching tears, elastic tears, worn spots or anything.

I go through a Dowco cover (their heaviest kind) about every 3-1/2 years here in Florida because the fabric doesn't stand up to the UV rays and heat that well, but that's acceptible to me (in part, because every other type of cover I've tried last significantly less time).

If you're parking it outdoors in the snow, I'd suggest also getting 4 mil construction poly sheeting at home depot, and putting some both under and over... lay down a layer on the ground, cover with generic cat litter (Kat litter), bike on top on centerstand, cover the intakes & exhaust holes, then whatever cover and another layer of 4-mil construction poly sheeting over. Roll the upper sheet edges with the lower sheet edges and staple them together to close it up into a "bag". Bricks or stones all around the base to hold it in place against wind, shifting snow banks. This should coocoon it pretty well. A container of damp-rid in the envelope may also help keep the humidity inside down. One note, though; get the tires off the ground, or at least away from the plastic (wood will work).

                  Cheers,

                      ok, ok...

I just got an unexpeted bill.

So i need to be cheap 'til next month.

                      Will one of these work(suffice)?

The second item (GSXR cover) won't fit -- too small.

If you need to be really cheap, this will work:
                        Generic Tarp, waterproof

                        Cheers

That was my solution. Didn't work too bad.
