  • Rear brake problem!!!

Well since i got my bike its always squeeked when i move it around the garage. And its also got a pulsating feel when you brake.

I was looking that my rotors and the rear right side seems to be blueing... which means alot of heat....not good

i took the rear caliper off and there was alot of brake dust so i cleaned it out with brake cleaner....

i noticed that with the caliper off the brake pads come together at the top. Are they soposed to close once the rotor is out of the way? or do they stay open.

try cleaning the carrier pins with a 3M scotchbrite pad.

I'm not saying you should rebuild the caliper (however regarding the work and costs why shouldn't you?), but it's a good howto to diagnose your problem.

Everything from the best brake pads to use, installing new brake lines,
swing arm swaps, adjusting your suspension or rebuilding your forks.
Everything you need to know on those topics and so much more is here.

Like Chris said, if you are running EBC's remove the shims
Like Steves said, clean the carrier pins,
put a bit off copperpaste on the back off the pads

Well, i took her out after a good cleaning. I didnt get any more squeeking but it still pulsates. I put it on the center stand and spun the wheel and the rotor is deff warped. Ill get a new one.....when i have 122 to throw away

Just so your aware, the rear disk is the same for the Bandit 600/1200, SV650 and (at least) the Gen 1 Hayabusa.

you can do a reverse part look up of part #69211-21E00 on Ron Ayers site.

That's if you didn't know already.

im not gunna get an OEM rotor, if i were going to drop that kinda money it will be on a wave rotor. Something higher performance but cheaper....hmm...weird
