  • What chain and sprkets for an 88 600 with 89 750 wheels?

My 1988 kat 600 has 750 wheels on it, The sprokets are differnt fom the 88 600 to the 89 750 One has 4 bolts in the center of the rear sproket and the 750 has 5 bolts. So if I am going to run the 750 wheels what do I order, I think the newer than 89 600 had the same or very similiar wheel to the 750. Either I need 89 750 chain and sprokets if the front sproket for the 750 will fit on the 600, or I need newer 600 chain and sprokets. Thanks in advance for any help. I posted this in the worn gsection so I thought I would post it here since this is CHAIN AND SPROKET section. DUH on my part still gettting used to this forum.

89-97 wheels are the same for both 600 and 750, so cc size does not matter for the wheels. 600s have shorter swingarms so that does matter for the chain.

You need to order sprokets and chain that fits 89-97 600 kat.

Yes, you could... would need the spacers from inside the 600 put into the 750 swinger as they have different sized OD bolts.

Why would you want to go with a longer wheelbase given the choice though?

I was looking at it. The 750 swingarm is only 1 inch longer. Dont think I am going to bother with it. Just stick with the 600 swingarm adn the 750 wheels.
