Here's a turbo kat. I'm not sure about that specific turbo, but I here the early 90's mitsubishi turbos work. use the search box, there should be some info in there.

                  paint looks good

as far as your statement about jetting the carbs later...bad idea. do it when you install the turbo set-up. if you try to force a bunch of air through that bike without changing the tiny stock jets, you are going to lean it out and burn it up in a hurry.

i have turbo'd air cooled engines before, they need more fuel than you might think....

you might want to look into a better set of carbs...maybe some Weber's, or at least something with a larger throat than what the stock mikunis have...

                  good luck...keep us updated

So after spending copious amounts of money what kind of a power return are you looking at for adding a turbo to a Kat, just curious...

IMHO, the money can be spent better other places but its not my money so have a good time with a rare mod.

You should also do the jetting and tuning at the same time as the turbo, save more cash and only tune it once. Personally I would go with the largest jets I could find to keep up with the turbo. The last thing you want is to cook the engine with your new turbo due to lack of fuel.

well if your doing it to beat SS bikes, its not a great idea.

but personally... if you like the kat and want some power gains as well i dont see a negative.... i mean besides paying alot

If you were going to go to all the trouble of turboing the Kat, why not add infinite adjustability of the fuel system by upgrading to F.I. - Thesteves did an excellent writeup employing gsxr600 fuel injection, and a microsquirt management system, for a N.A. Kat. With some tweaking and testing you could dial in a pretty fearsome Turbotana!
