Okay, let's all try to be mature about this because I'm being serious about my questions.
I am a 5'2" female with Size DDD breasts. I've tried on several jackets and cannot find one that doesn't suffocate me or fits but is too loose in the waist.
Any fellow female riders have this issue? Or guys whose girlfriends have this issue?
I want a nice, safe, plated jacket to wear. I need suggestions because I absolutely hate ordering things online but I'm desperate. The local bike shops don't have anything I care for.

I'd go with the option others have suggested, take one of the jackets that fits but is loose in the waist in and have a tailor tune it to fit 100%.

Joe Rocket does make a line of ladies apparel that is more shapely. Not sure what you've checked out yet. most of them all have some adjustment built into the jacket, not like 10+ years ago when it was men's stuff or bust.

Thanks to all who replied. I figured there would be silly responses, but I get comments about my curves every day. So nothing new to me.

Custom does not have to be expensive.


Adding a simple set of cinch buckles to the lower waist on either side can make any jacket now have an adjustable size waist. These could be sewn directly to the outside, I would be really surprised if someone charged more than $20 for that. If you can't find a seamstress specifically to do that kind of work due to the leather thickness... check with custom upholstery shops. They will have the heavy duty threads/machines to sew them on. (Mother in law is a seamstress, bro in law owns a custom upholstery shop.)




Those combined with already smaller waist jackets from quality makers like Joe Rocket or Alpine Stars will probably make the best fit for your needs.

You might be sure to wear thicker material between yourself and the leather garment. I have found that on longer rides, those sensitive areas on my chest become irritated due to the motion of the leather through thinner shirt materials. That will provide greater comfort. It took me a while to figure out how to say that. Welcome to the group. We are about safe riding here and admire your pursuit to ride safely.

A racer friend has done some research and is considering getting a custom suit from these people in NC. Worth a call. From what he was telling me, the prices aren't bad at all.

But now you're talking money... like $1300 to start if you need something semi-custom.

Semi-custom is a partially finished suit that's shipped to the US, and the tailor here makes the final adjustments.

Something tells me that a suit tailor might look forward to working on a jacket for a DDD woman after measuring men's inseams all week long. They may even be willing to negotiate on price for the opportunity.

I know the owner of Hazardous Racing http://hazardousracing.com/ . Not sure how far Summerville is from Charlotte, NC, but Matt Alexander could probably have his wife take measurements, and get the suit made to fit perfectly. I highly doubt you would be able to find gear with the same quality for anywhere near as reasonable priced as their stuff. Matt has been known to give locals/face to face customers special deals/pricing compaired to his website sales prices. I also agree with the Joe Rocket stuff for women. Most of their womens jackets have adjustment straps with buckles in the back and look great.

Hi there im a female rider. Im 5'1 and used to be larger than that in the cup(like Fs) . Depending on your band size, you' ll make out better just buying the larger size jackets and getting them tailored. For that reason Ive only been purchasing textiles/mesh since its cheaper tailor. Im going to buy some leathers for the track this summer so ill be sure to report back. Good luck chica
