anyone have a pic of how the pre '98 600 luggage rails mount?

the Kat is back in the wrenching rotation in the garage. when i got it, it didn't have the luggage rails. i got a pair from someone here and i'm trying to bolt them up, but it's been forever since i've seen where they mount and don't seem to be able to match up the right bolts with the rails.

the fiche is no help.

a pic would be great!

Both ends both bolt to the frame.
This is the only pic I have that shows it, and it only shows the front mounting (right under the adjuster for my Ohlins reserve)... but from there, matching the back end should be as simple as rotating until the hole in the rail matches the hole in the frame.

Note that on the 98+ (unlike the pre-98), both sides go through holes in the undertail (plastic wheelwell) and bolt to the outside of the frame. Chinto's pics may be a little misleading because of the generation-gap.

No, I missed something -- I was really tired when I read the original post & replied, and it logged into my brain as '98 (not pre-'98 as he wrote).

oh well...now in the future is someone decides to do a search on the generational differences between the luggage rails they can find this thread and get there answer.

yeah... i figured that CP was just filling in details for anyone else who might dig this up in the future.

i searched for "luggage rails" and came up empty on an answer for this question. this is a '93 i'm working on.

i bolted up the rails on the outside of the bracket for the pillion seat and grab hnadle... not quite how Chinto's pix show, but i'll have to try mounting up the fairings and see if it works or i need to re-do it.

trying to take care of some little details since i don't have any assistance to mount the new motor at the moment. that'll help clear up some space in the garage when i get that done.
