  • Painting windshield?

This might be a stupid question, but can you paint a windshield ? i kind of did not want to try it and have a mess to clean up :P

to paint it i would scuff it up a bit then prime and sand it then paint it for a nice finish.

      Yes, you can paint it.

I think a better answer could be given if you explained what you wanted from painting it though...

scuff it up with some 500grit wet sand paper, and this is the most important step of all, make sure you use a plastic adhesion promoter. It is an aresol product you spray on and let sit for about 15 minutes or so, this makes the surface accept paint much better than simply scuffing. If your windshield is made from a softer meterial like acutal plastic and not lexan or plexi-glass, use a scotchbright scubbing pad, reason being 500grit will leave deeper scratchs that will be harder to fill with paint and will show through. Good luck

yep, painted mine....well, the inside I painted.

turned out better than expected and only cost me whatever it was for a rattle can of semi-gloss black

                  Actually matches the front fender

the newer headlights just have a black housing on the inside instead of reflective. look at the pics in his garage, and then look at an older one, like a 2002. you'll see what i mean
