  • Removing the rear wheel

    Anybody have instructions on removing the rear wheel for a 2001 Kat? Any help would be appreciated.

    1. jack it up.
    2. Remove cotter pin
    3. Take off the big nuts on the rear axel
    4. Take out the axel
    5. Bout it

      remove the cotter pin & loosen then remove the axle nut. pull the axle out.
      push the tire forward to lossen the chain to clear the sprocket. i let the rear caliper hang by the rod.

      the spacers will fall - don't loose them.


      pretty easy.

            be carefull with the brake, if you just loosen the support arm and let the caliper hang. if it hangs too far it will stress the hose alot and maybe tear it.

            i say pull the caliper off and tie off on the frame just to get it outa the way. its a pain to get the rear wheel back on with the caliper on as well. have to line the rotor up with the caliper, while holding the tire straight. it was the hardest part for me lol.
