  • Can someone guess the year?

    Can someone guess what year this might be based on color and graphics? I want to have an offer that is better than the $3000 he's asking if I even bother talking to him about it.

    looks like an older kat to me . i wouldnt go close to 3 k myself. im thinking 1700. it is a 600 and older. someone more knowledgable than me will be along shortly..

      I dont think the year is going to matter if he's asking that much.
      A fair offer would be half of that or less.
      Blue book is only 500 difference for a 88(1,200) to a 97(1,715)

        Thats a $1200 bike all day, pre 98 600.
        90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

          I thought it may be a newer one since it looks like the dealer decals (warnings) are still on the plastics but as much as I love the Katana's, I wouldn't pay $3,000 for one. Well atleast I don't think I would. LOL

            It's a 1997 model. Last year made for the Pre kat.

            In near mint shape I'd say $2000 is fair price retail. You won't resell it for that though.
