  • Buying a set of z6's...front fit question??

    I have a 96 750...
    Stock size is 110/80/17 front...

I've seen posts of people running it in a 120/70/17 front...but Metzeler's site sets me up w/ a 110/70/17 for the front, which one do I get?!?!

This is the first time I'm replacing tires and I'm confused as to which one is the better choice for me...

    HELP
    -Steve

Sorry for posting this here...noone seems to be browsing the rolling stock and I need help sooner than later if I wanna order today...

If it helps, the spec for my '06 Kat is 120/70/17 front and 150/70/17 rear.

I had some tire problems and the dealer didn't have replacement Macadam's, so he put on Pilots. It sure sticks a lot better than the stock.

Nah, I'm just curious if I should compensate a wider wheel for the lower sidewall...

BTW, your dealership had a damn good solution to being out of the stockers! I'd LOVE a set of pilots...anyone got a cheap (Free!) 98+ wheel??

Go here and read the gospel. Cyber goes in to a sermon about tires that you will swear he’s speaking in tongues. enjoy.

I've browsed the sticky once or twice...yeah CP's a keeper!

I'm not really concerned about rain handling from going wider...I just want the best dry handling in the turns.

You won't go wrong with either front tire size (110/80 or 120/70, as long as you skip the 110/70 & 120/60 which aren't up the weight requirement). If it was my pre-98 Kat, I'd slap the 120/70ZR17 on it. The 110/80 is a better touring tire (sucks up a bit more bumps), but the 120/70 is a better handling tire for corners.

            Cheers,
