Can't wait to hear it. The only Kat I have heard is mine with its loud (but I like it) D&D. Last weekend would have been a great time to meet up. The weather was amazing here on the 9th.

The OEM pipe came off simple enough. It had some kind of wire mesh thing inside the header. I figured it was like a gasket of some sort, so I tried to put the Scorpion mid-pipe into it. That would not fit. So I removed the wire mesh thing from the header and attempted to fit it to the mid-pipe. No Go. So I said F**k it, and shoved the mid-pipe in the header with no gasket. It fit fine but loose as all hell. At this point I tried to assemble the mid-pipe and the Scorpion. That was most impossible. The hole was made in a way that the clamp would not connect as it was. It had some extra metal piece that just got in the way. and would not let the screw connect to the other side. I ripped it off with pliers. Pipe would not fit into the Scorpion, so I got the pipe wrench out and protected from the teeth, squeezed a little on each side of the Scorpion until I could fit the engaged clamp onto it. Got that on, now to the mid-pipe again. Now the whole is way too small so I Get the pliers and pull the flanges out on each side a bit. It's in... So I take it back apart and apply the Red RTV to the inside of the Scorpion and put it back together again, so damn tight. Now I can tighten the clamp. Yeah!!! Scorpion now has a mid-pipe attached. Now I just shove the fricken end into the fricken header, and let it dangle there awhile, I need a drink. Then I tried attaching the main exhaust bracket to the foot peg in many different ways. I settled on the one that kept it close to the bike, but away from the swing arm. That part was easy. Now it is hanging there or dangling loosely. Really loose fit was made up by squirting lots of the High Temp RTV RED Gasket maker into the crevice around the pipe and the header. Started up for a leak check, and had a few at the mid-pipe Scorpion connection but none at the header where I thought I would. Filled them with the RTV and that did the trick. Not one leak anymore. After the 24 hour cure time, it held the pipe real snug. It held up on my 11 hour ride just fine. Still NO leaks. Sounds like FIRE...
Thank GOD!!! Cause if this thing sucked after all of that... Well I'm sooo glad that it didn't. I love it. Oh yeah, I got this one from Parts411.com. Well worth the aggravation.

Oh yeah... I forgot to say that I was working on it from about 1PM until 5PM.
      4 HOURS... Sheese.

sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me lol

thanks for the reply. I like the one in the picture from the site that I sent out (http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/pa...rs-suzuki.html) and I just wish someone would tell me if this would fit my Kat '03 600. Any takers out there???

This weekend was great weather... but, I had a funeral for most of it... No riding. I Rather it rained on this one.

Anyway, I am going to try to get Scout, CHutch, and me, to all ride up to meet and ride with you soon.

That sounds like some fun. We will have to scan the maps to see if there are any good roads around Altoona.

I could not be more happy with my Black N Gold Pittsburgh Kat.
I see you have the same Corbin saddle. Good choice.

hey, I saw you got your pipe from parts411.com but when I look on there it says it will fit up to the 05 and I have an 06. Also I'm looking to get it in carbon fiber instead of stainless steel. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

Well there are some carbon cans floating around. They are hard to come by.

And it WILL fit on your bike. The EPA put catalytic converters in the 06 models for emissions so they wont allow MFGs to say aftermarket cans will fit... but they will.

You should see a minor performance gain too!

Thanks for the info, the performance gain would be a small plus but I really just love the sound. Anyone know where I might stumble upon a carbon fiber one.

I ordered 5 Carbon Fiber Scorps from many different places... ALL said that it was discontinued permanently, and offered me the Two Bros pipe instead... So I went with the Stainless Oval Scorp. Very happy I went with it.
