Blinking odometer

2006 600 kat with about 4,020 miles
After i stoped to fill up the gas i noticed that the Odometer was blinking "--------" . When I noticed the signal I quickly turned the moter off and restarted but, that did not help so I unpluged the batery,no good. It seems to be running fine. Can someone tell me what it might mean?

Could be a bad bulb. If it gets brighter along with the rest of the display, when you rev the engine, then it is probably normal.

I think you misunderstood the problem. The odometer blinks dashes insted of numbers showing Will not show miles driven or trip times it just blinks eight dashes inplace of the numbers. Thanks for your help though.

I had a similar issue when my negative battery cable came slightly loose at the battery. Check all your battery cable connections and make sure they are snug, not just the screws tight but the actual cable pinched tight.
