  • I can't get that front reflector off!

I'm trying to remove the front reflectors off of the forks. It's held on by a bracket with a stubborn a$$ phillips screw. Anybody have any luck with getting this off?

use a hand held impact with a #2 phillips bit

I'm thinking I might try to give it some wd-40 to loosen it up. The problem is, it's dangerously close to my front brakes!

Check you local laws if you are removing them permanently.

In Maine the side reflectors are required equipment front and back.

mine turned off with a little muscle....WD40 should do the trick just cover everthing up with a towel or plastic bag if your that concerned about getting WD40 on your brakes.

Well, tried the wd-40, and still a no-go. I guess I'll leave it.

Make sure you are using a "good" phillips bit to begin with. You can also try using a #2 bit like Chris stated in a 1/4" drive wrench for additional torque. Did you try tightening the screw first? Sometimes that's all it requires to get a stubborn screw moving.

I don't think it will be anything any cop would pull you over for, unless he's looking for a reason. If that's the case, he'll find something else!
