Welcome to the forum. You'll find many great tutorials and write-ups here. Post pictures of your machine once you get it up and running. We all love pictures.

sorry I haven't posted any pics but i have another question for the guru's here.

I have been looking at the RS carbs seen a few references to them in my searches but seems nobody has put them on a kat pre or post.

Question is can anyone tell me what would be needed to do the converison on a post kat. the carb spacing i find for the rs (77-93-77) does not match up to what I have found for the post Kat's (82-86-82).

just trying to make future plans.

I have, donít bother unless it will be a track bike ONLY. They need to be tuned just about every time you take it out. The RS carbs are awesome race carbs, horrible for street bikes. They will not change with altitude, temperatures, humidity and so on, kat carbs will and do change with the environment.

$1200-1500- Filters, yes this time you can use pods.* Hotter cam, carbs, tuning kit, post katana throttle, ** throttle cables......knowledge on tuning them and patience.
If you are working with a post kat, scratch the throttle off the list.

* cam isnt necessary, but it helps to wake the motor up with the carbs.
** I remember the post cables didnít fit- lengthwise.

cam question for the guru's.

all information I find here says i need 88-89(prefered 89)cams but I also get the idea that any cam would be better then the factory 05 cams. am I correct here?
