Depending on the donor bike you just just need different bearings. There are write ups on it in the 1100 section as Junker said. I believe those donor bikes were either b12s or gsxrs, but it has been a while since I read those.
Honestly, grafting on the entire front end is probably an easier way to go to 17". My own conversion was a bit of a pain and leaves you with mixed and matched parts. Easier to remember/fix issues later if the entire front end is off the same bike.1998 Katana 750
