  • starter relay issues

Guys I'm at a loss. I f'ed up and installed a new battery backwards. It was a yuasa that I had to add electrolyte to and charge overnight. Fuses are good, and I reset the breaker (pre 98) and rechecked the fuses. I have power to the lights etc, but when I hit the starter my starter relay just clicks once, and when I release the starter button it clicks again.
Now when I first put the battery back on after the backwards incident, and getting it tested at the shop who said to charge it which I did, my starter worked but didn't start the bike, after two attempts the relay started clicking real fast. but now only once.

    What now?

It simply sounds like you are out of battery juice. Leave the battery in it, jump it from a car. If all works you know what the problem is.

Those refillable batteries have a recommended amprage and time to correctly charge them. (I think its like .4 amps for 10 hours AND 1.5 amps for 4 hours)

after that put it in the bike and go for a good long ride.

    Hope this helps, cheers!!
