If you need any GS engines or engine parts, I have TONS & am a dealer for just about everyone. I build GS motors and do LOTS of head porting. I also drag race them myself. I also have an 82 1000 Katana that is becoming a Pro Street type 1400 cc street/show bike. If I can help you in any way, call me at 714-356-7845. Ray.

What tail is that on the VF1000R (86?)

Actually, I'd be curious to see a full rundown of the specs as it is beautifully done!!!

                          Thanks! Quick(?) rundown:

1986 VF1000RG, 1984 Euro VF1000RE fairing, 1986 VFR750 tank, Airtech fiberglass NSR250 tail, I made the seat and the undertail, 2000 RC51 front end, 1996 VFR750 swingarm with 91-93 VFR rear wheel, Ohlins VFR shock, frame modified with built-in ride height adjustment and moved lower rear frame spars up(for that airy look) one-off stainless 2x2 into 1 headers with Yoshimura carbon mufflers, VF1000F2F oil pump with modified oil pan for oil cooler, electrics/battery moved under the tail, bunch of other stuff.

Everything has been modified to fit and work on this bike as not one thing was a bolt on...

OK, been months but finally getting somewhere. Just got an offset rear sprocket from K&J in Germany. 11mm offset/47 tooth/530 pitch.

This leaves me with 17-18mm to find somewhere between the front sprocket and the RC51 cush drive.

What size is the RC51 rim (5.5x17" or 6" x17"). My rear Marchesini is unfortunately 6" and I have to run an ever so slight offset to the rim to have frame/chain clearance. Most people I've seen run 6" rim on old kat frames notch or tunnel the frame for proper chain run with a centered rim. I have a 4.5" marcheisni rim coming from Japan which I think I'm going to switch to on my current 82 to correct the slight offset and on the second 82, I'm going to channel the frame during welding/bracing so I can run the 6" with perfect alignment.
