  • Katana for Sale - 2001 GSX600F with 3800 miles

So I need to sell the bike and had it posted on craigslist for sale. Havent got a lot of hits for it yet and was wondering if I'm asking too much. Here is what I'm selling:

    2001 Katana 600 Blue
    3800 Miles
Mechanically and Physically in great condition, no problems.
Some minor scratches on fairing but nothing larger than a dime and unnoticeable.
Has been Garage kept all its life with annual oil changes/maintenance.
    Tires are in great shape.

    Upgrades:
Braada Seat Cowl with matching stock paint
    Yoshimura Slip On
    Clear Flush mounts
    Rear Fender Eliminator
    Frame Sliders

picture is out-dated, doesnt show yoshi and frame sliders

I'm asking $3700 or best offer. Is this fair?

    NADA price is $3,060.

Mods are worth nothing to the aftermarket buyer.

The Braada cowls have been going on eBay for over $200.

Take the cowl off, drop your price a few hundred, and be willing to haggle would be my advice.

thats what i figured. nobody cares for the aftermarket stuff. i was willing to do 3500 possibly, but I think I'm better off selling without the parts.

Isnt NADA's quote for a bike with over 3.8K miles? This is really low miles for its year. I barely rode the bike....

Neither really takes mileage into account I don't think...

I actually take $$ off the price for too low a mileage, because it means the bike sat too much (which isn't good for it's aging). If you bought the bike with low mileage and rode it a lot lately (plus brought it up to full service levels), you should definitely include that in the ad.
Your timing is also weak -- bikes fetch the most in the spring and early summer, least as fall/winter starts to approach.

          Cheers,

i think thats reasonable, i bought my 01 stock kat with 6k miles for 2700, but if you make yours stockish and lower the price then you could probally sell that yosh for almost what you payed and the cowl for more then what you payed haha just my.2

Dont short change the bike. If its in great condition dont be afraid to ask more for it.

To some people low mileage is worth alot. To me it was.

Around ATL, most kats with low mileage are going for anywhere from 3K all the way to 4. even down to thr 01's and 02's.

When i sell mine which is about what the one your selling is Ill be asking about 3400, hoping to get 3+,
