I don't really know how you two role when your on the bike but my wife was having a hard time on the busa last year. She complained about alot of the same problems as your GF the strange part was she had been on the bike and not ever had a a problem before. I took her out and had her put her Ipod on and believe it or not thats all it took, things were back to normal

Good luck striking a balance on this one. I feel like this issue is exactly why a SS won't ever replace my Kat... Of course I'd be happy to have one supplement the Kat for 1up days...

I don't think you'd be the only person who's done this.

Look, all I'm saying... is that Mark posted some pretty bad ace pictures of them riding two up, and in every one of them... Kristi is using the grab bar.

So, to me... the solution is to get a grab bar.

steves FTW! Seriously, nice find on the grab bar...... and honestly it looks simple enough to just have one made up, instead of trying to import that one. Combine that with having the seat recovered with a grippier material, and maybe a gel insert or something, and you might just have a solution to your problems. It will never be a kat, but at least it could be reasonable for her.

I had suggested that too, but I wasn't nice enough to find a link to an already manufactured and functioning product...

I came across that a while back when the wife said she was sliding around on the back of the Kat. Looks to me like you could do the same thing with some of that kitchen cabinet liner stuff they sell at walmart. My .02

On the anxiety note, and I definitely am not up to your skill level in riding yet, the wife gets nervous when I move my a$$ off the seat to take turns (I just started doing it) or when I lean my upper body into a turn that doesnt require my a$$ to move. What I have started doing is working up to the lean more and more with each ride. She is used to cruisers and had never been on a sport bike until she got with me. The lean angle is scary to her and she is slowly getting used to it.

The ipod idea also works pretty well in my experience. It gives her something to focus on other than what is causing the anxiety.

Agree with the grab bar for the win.

I knwo that on the Kat I was fine with Lauri on the back. I barely noticed her. However on the Daytona, I hate her to be back there in a way. I love us riding together but on the same token that bike is not meant for two up and it tells me every time. I was fine with her on the SV but the 675 is even taller in the *** and the suspension is not meant to have that much weight riding that high....

I am stoked she has her own bike and 2 up riding is very minimal now. Though I do miss having her on the back to rail around at times. If she gets a SV next then I will be able to take her out on her bike and she can remain comfy on the back.

Reupholster the pillion with a gel pad to compliment the grab bar.

My wife loves riding on the 05 GSXR750 so far, and she said the seat is more comfortable than my pre 600 for her. Longest ride so far was around 180 miles last Sun. The one thing she does miss is the backrest I made for the Kat. One possible solution I'm looking at is, since the rear storage under the seat is next to useless anyways, I might fab a frame mounted bracket under the seat to accept a Corbin backrest, then just buy an extra stock seat to cut the notch for the mount to fit through. Since it will be an extra seat only being used when she is with me, I may also add a little extra foam or a gel pad to it.

She ordered the grab bar / tail rack about 15 minutes after I showed her the website.

Hmm...guess she isn't interested in riding pillion on a SS, huh?

Thanks to all of you for the input and even the critics. I will keep you informed as to how it goes. Bar should be here Friday. She was able to find a distributor in Atlanta. :
