If someone else wants to do the same, I have a set of [used] Krauser racks here for the 98-02 Kats (should also fit 03-06) that would make excellent racks for the pelicans.
I always used the pelicans to move my computer & camera gear across continents, and love the build-quality...
I just never considered mounting them on a bike -- way better than standard luggage from Givi, Krauser, etc.

Thanks CyberPoet. I used the Pelican bags for years to haul instrumentation for field work, and found that even when they got backed over by a pickup truck, these bags would not only stay intact, they didn't even leak. They are lifetime guaranteed, so they immediately came to mind for this project.
I did take the easy route, not designing the racks to be quick-disconnect, but I usuually pack my stuff in duffle bags inside my panniers anyway so that I can de-mobilize or rearrange my gear fairly quickly anyway, so the permanent bags are not a problem. Those tough Pelicans act as protection to a degree also, an added bonus.Living truly is truly living

I've also had Givi on the Kats; functional, effective, and superb racks [that can-open'd a standard van that failed to stop as it came up from behind me -- without knocking me down), but the Krausers are even heftier in the rack department...

I checked ... Corbin had some nice backs but.... expect selling a Kidney or two. Pretty but..... expensive. Decided and got some Cor-Tech soft bags, tail back, and a tank back. Can't say the prettiest thing out there.
How mine is done(soft bags)

suzuki rack
the gsx650f should take the same rack as the gsf1250s bandit, i have a spare rack laying around from the bandit eating a little pavement. changed the rack out but it's still good. the suzuki bags will fit and are the same as the givi V35's and a v46 on the top.98 GSX750F Kat

As much as I like the styling of the Corbin's, and they do look great, I still wouldn't pay their price for the capacity they offer. 27 litters per side?!?! No thanks.
I need real man panniers.

They would be great for local, around town, stuff like maybe grocery shopping, but not for vacation trips.
