  • pre-750 carbs on 1127 engine?

I'm looking at swapping an 1127 engine into my 1990 750.
I could save some money using my 750 Mikuni 36mm carbs, anybody use those for their swap?
GSXR 40mm flatsides are way too expensive.
Katana 1100 Mikuni 34mm are smaller than the 36mm, I don't get that?
Seems like the 36mm would flow more and work better.

Sorry but too many words for the search engine to answer.
    Thanks.

the GSX1100G uses 36mm carbs. The BST36SS carbs in fact. Using 36mm carbs on an 1127 has been done a lot, with success.

Yup , same carbs , different settings . Outside the U.S. they briefly used 40mm carbs for more power , but kinda hard to find .

THere's a thread around here somewhere with most most common things you'll need to do ...
Wasn't a HUGE deal , but I ran into quite a few little things that needed doing . Like trimming-up the oil cooler to clear the headers .
