  • Remote carb sync nipple.

After doing a search and found to many pages with that search phrase, I decided to go ahead and ask.

Has anyone considered or installed remote nipples for the carb sync tool?
Instead of using the nipples on the carbs themselves, has anyone drilled, tapped something like these
(or something similar) on the intake boots? And when not in use, just plug them just like the ones on the carb. Would it work? Or do I have to use the stock ones because thats where the air flow/vacuum is the best?

There's got to be an easier way to get at those ports on the carbs.

The Morgan CarbTune II guys offer remote nipple set-ups for race bikes and others who commonly re-tweak their carbs on a very regular basis (such as before every race for many in the pro-racing community). I didn't both installing them because I don't have my carbs fall out of sync very regularly, but they are out there.

Those tubes pictured are needed for bikes
that have syncro ports in the intake..
I like that the kat has them built in..
saves time, busted tubes, stuck screws... etc..
Also what good are remote syncro ports without
      remote adjuster screws??

As far as I can tell, there differeing solutions for that -- some bikes can be gotten at with certain tools (carbs facing other directions or with their hardware located elsewhere), and some systems actually permit bleeding of additional air in to raise/lower the vacuum to balance. Either way, on a Kat, I think remotes would be a real waste of time.
