So far, in damp and soggy leaf ridden conditions, I like this tyre. I fitted it two days ago. Seems a soft compound but firm walls. No scares yet and chicken strips gone.
Don't know about those, but i got my shinkos pretty cheap from bike bandit...a lot of reviews boasting they are better than higher enders...so far, they are the best tyres I've ever had. Including in the rain.
I have used different tires on my Katana 750. For example, I used
Dunlop Q3, Q2, Perrelli Angels, Shinko Advanced, and the most recent
Shinko Raven. I tested all in mild and scorching hot weather.
The Dunlop Q3 is an awesome tire. Heats up fast, very sticky, hugs corners
Extremely well. Same with the Q2, which I like much better because it
Has a versatile application for street and track. The tires are mainly
Geared to track. So, the tire wears out quickly. I found that the shinko
Raven heats up well and is sticky. The tire, however, is a harder
Component and directed to touring, commuting application.
The Shinko Raven is a great value for the buck!!!! And, a solid
touring tire not to be underestimated.
Hmmm. I used shinkos years ago without much trouble but mostly use maxxis supermaxx which I find very good! I tried an Avon av 46 last winter which gave a couple of squirrely moments but also very good. Feel safe with this promaxx at the moment, it was very cheap and seems gamble paid off so far! About 4000 miles on the others I mentioned, I'll keep you posted with this.
