  • Air Filter

I thought that I would start getting the Kat ready to go for spring and one of the first things is checking the air filter. The guy I got the bike from put a new one in it last summer but it needs checked anyway.

Question- Is there anyway to get the air filter out without taking the entire airbox out? This is a pre.

I have looked at it a couple different times and there is a cross bar between the frame that is right in the way of sliding the filter out of the box. There has to be a trick to this guys. What is it?

The tank mount bracket can be removed pretty easily.

I haven't looked. There must be bolts toward the bottom of the bracket?

Yes. Remove the screws from the tank brace, and remove the screws from the air filter.

But hell , it's just about as easy to take out the whole carb/airbox assembly .
