Availibiltiy of 16" tires has been an issue for 1100 owners for the past few years. They are becoming harder to find in modern compound tires.

I think that Pirelli sport deamon, and Metzeler Lasertec both come on those sizes, and are both decent tires.

Thanks Steve. It currently has Bridgestone Battleaxes on it. But have read negative threads on those here. I will check out the 2 you recommend.

Just steer clear of the cruiser tires in that same size... probably not a good idea

In the 1100 section here there is a post about how to convert to 17" wheels to give you a better tire selection.

Just checked at Motorcycle Superstore. A lot of people were recommending Pirelli sport demons. The reviews said they were a terrific tire with a short life. But seem cheap at $228 a pair. Any thoughts ?

The sport deamon and the lasertec are esstentially the same tire. It's probably the best choice in those sizes.

I think their wear is average but I've never had to run those tires.

Replace with the regular sized tires unless you're doing a rim swap. You don't want to put a over or undersized tire on a rim not made for it.

Purple haze, what size tires do you run on your 93? P.s. I used to live in St. Charles

                        I have a 1992 Kat 1100.

Tires on the bike look like they will make it for the season but I'm sure I will upgrade in the fall/winter.

Has anyone gone to the 17 inch rims and tires?

My bike is stock but if I can get better handling and better tire selection with 17 inch rims I might just make the change.

Will I need to do an mods if I go to a 17 inch setup?

I have a 2003 Suzuki katana 600 I just extended the swing arm... Could I put a 170/60 tire on there? What kind of tire is recommended?

I would recomend the 160/60/17 myself.
I would recommend the Michelin Pilot Road 3 or 4.
