Syncing Carbs

I was wondering if the carbs required being synced if I just took them out to polish them and change out the float bowl screws.

They should be synced anytime you remove them. You may get away with not syncing them and everything will be fine. They should be synced.

Just make a nice little sync tool or just buy one from online, they're pretty inexpensive for the most part and as long as you have a bike with carbs, you'll have a use for it!

As for anything carb related, Arsenic is the go to man!
