I finally looked around in the gas tank, and the sending unit is definitely rusted out; anybody know where I can get one for a better price than the stealership???

if so, very little from what I could tell; but the unit definitely rusted out...it looked like parts of it where missing
they wanted $61 for one of those sending units http://www.suzukipartshouse.net/page.../1/Suzuki.aspx Last edited by vtchopperdude; 02-09-2010 at 08:36 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Parts missing?... I don't see how only that component could be in such a condition, without there also being significan't rust or problems with the tank as well. Unless the tank and sending unit are from 2 different bikes. I guess that could be possible. The PO swapped the tank, choose not to swap the sending unit. Pics of it would be a great help, but I still say it's possible it could be salvaged. Don't throw it away if you do, and post some pics. If nothing else, I might be interested in trying to save it, and will cover shipping if your cool with that (if it looks like it can be). Krey |

alright, I put in a new sending unit today, and the fuel gauge works; the only question I have is...I had about a quarter tank it, and when I started the bike, it took about a minute for the gauge to read that it had that much; the needle slowly creeped up to the quarter tank mark...is that normal, or should it snap up to the level pretty quickly???
