off to the tire store tomorrow. they just opened a cycle gear near my house and they have the michelin pilot powers on sale cheap! going with 120/70/17 front and 160/60/17 rear. I was gonna go today but I was gonna take the bike over to jimmies to pull the wheels and he didn't get off from work until 4:00. wouldn't you know at 4:00 we get one of those suprise rain showers! and jimmie had to work over anyway. so We were gonna pull the wheels tomorrow but being the impatient sort that I am I bought some stuff and pulled them myself. (I'll call ya tomorrow am jimmie) I was suprised it was much easier than I anticipated. I'll have to take some pics of the contraption I rigged up to raise the bike I swear it's much safer than it looks!

WOW! got the tires on today and what a difference! the bike just "fell" into the turns and the stickies held like glue. so much better than the macs its unbelievable. I have soooo much more confidence now. both the tires and the bike are alot more capable than I am. I still need lots of seat time and pointers on how to ride properly. a big thanks to hs2020 for both helping with the tire install and advice he has given thus far.

got a great deal on them too. $220 mounted and balanced. thats for a 120/70/17 front and 160/60/17 rear. needless to say I'll be frequenting cycle gear alot.

We did this all on a Sunday too. I do not think any bike shop can compete with that even being open during the week.

You got a good deal. The dealer by me wanted $170 for the rear tire alone.
