  • do it yourself polished wheels

i have heard that you you can take paint remover and strip the paint off of your wheels and then clean them with steel wool and then hand polish them is it true. or should i even waste my time. and if i did try it does anyone have an old wheel that i could buy for cheap to test on first

Yes this is true, I think there is a thread in the Body shop on this subject that has gotten barried in archives

Sorry the shot is not very close up. I just got done a couple of weeks ago. Took an hour or so to take the paint off... and 30 minutes to tape off the tires and spokes.

Also stripped the paint off the grab bar and polished it!

probably wouldnt have been that much easier had he taken off the wheels though... yeah he'd have had more room to work, but eh, as long as they're done and look cool, thats all that matters

is my back wheel off of the bike. stripped it all then polished and painted the center graphite, then clearcoated it all.

I need to clean everything and take a picture of them both on the bike.
