Which lane should you ride in (ie, over hills, in town, general riding)?
The right half of the lane furthest to the left. Why? Because this position minimizes the threat from people turning out of driveways and stores, which is the highest threat factor to you; it increases your visibility to them and physically places you the furthest possible from them.
all good advice for sure.....but for this question here, I kinda think the main reason for it...and most beneficial, imho, is that it prevents cagers from "stealing" your spot. if you ride too far on the right side of your lane, it can entice a cager to squeeze right up beside you and practically force you off the road. I have experienced this myself when I have been on roads/streets where the center was peppered with potholes. In the MSF course here, it is also the reason they state for it.
I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

I noticed the mods added a FAQ folder..
I can't wait until it gets activated..
I propose CP's post (without following posts)
      be the first.. (Locked)
Good job Marc. Even if we don't agree 100%
It is nice to have a bunch of the simple
questions all laid out. IMO you should'nt be able to
post a question untill you have read this thread
3 times (on seperate days). then if you
still have a question it's probibly a newish one..

The questions actually came to me as a single list from someone else who was asking -- all I did was answer them, and then repost the contents of that PM.

For the FAQ section, I'll do a more detailed one if anyone wants.

          Cheers,

With the number of times I've seen this thread pointed to in the last week, I think the mods should make it a sticky. It gives you pretty much all the info you need about your first Kat and all in one thread. Most newbies would want to take a look at a thread that says "Newbie Thread".... or so I would hope.

Excellent read. Is it possible to put it into a word document for download and print?

I can put into a PDF document, which would be better (more universally accepted document format -- not everyone runs office). But as a URL is even better in my mind, as it lets me update the links as needed.
