The general consensus around here is to put a 150/70 on it. The metzeler z6, pirelli strada's, continental road attacks are the ones you will be told the most here. I just put the road attacks on mine but haven't ridden on any of these listed yet. Search Cyberpoets stuff on here about tires. There's a lot of good info on here.

This past fall I replaced my 150 for a 140 and have regretted it ever since (for cosmetic reasons). I would suggest the 150 as well. That's what I had on before and didn't have any problems.

            I use 150 on my 1990.

My preference is the Pilot Powers, but currently use the Pilot Roads. Both really good, the Powers seem a little more suited for the tight twisties, the Roads last longer and are great for commuting and still stick well in the corners.

140/80 is stock on pre98 600 and 150/70 on pre98 750. Both have the 3.5 inch rear rim. So yes you can run a 150/70 on there just fine. I run a 160/60 on my bike just because everyone says I can not do it. It is not safe Never had a problem with it. You do however have to choose the right tire for this. The Michelins, Metzlers, few others will work. The Bridgestone 160/60 will not fit.

                  Dunlop Qualifiers also work!
