  • And away we go...

Okay, I've ranted about my girl being smashed. I dunno why it's taken me so long to post pics of her damage. But she's finally in the shop and getting fixed. When I went to go over paint and graphix ideas, I took my camera and thought I'd snap some before pics, just for reference, later. Hopefully she'll be done within 2 weeks, and I just have to assemble her! Yay!

You bring your bike beer? Wow, and I thought mine was spoiled

Forget the chain, look at those forks and brake disks! There's even rust spots on your frame. Where have they been storing your baby?! At least you've got some beer to drink while you're scrubbing. Hopefully the forks aren't pitted. That'd suck.

Good luck with the reassembly. You'll probably be riding before we will up here in the frozen north.

Ya I noticed the beer and chain too. Can I live in your garage and sit around and do nothing while you bring me beer?

True, true. Light surface rust isn't a problem. Pitting is, especially on the forks. Kinda tends to cause failed seals. I do know of folks who've had good results doubling up the fork seals but I've never tried it myself.

See, this is why I LUB(e) input from all of you guys!!! MissKitty is at the body shop getting all of her plastics redone while I have scouring for everything else I will need to do the mechanics. Structurally, she's been given a thumbs up by 3 pros in 3 shops. I think some of the flaws might just be on film. When she gets put back together, she's getting all of her mechanic issues addressed: new chain and sprockets (which I am shopping for) and brakes & lines (got em). I got replacement fairing stays and mounting hardware. I also have a new exhaust. I think I have enough to get me started....or drive me crazy....

How nuts, that I honestly rebuilt my first car ground up at 16 and felt comfortable with it. But this intimidates the crap out of me! You'd think I was cloning a human baby or something. LOL Thanks for the input guys!
