  • Dunlop GT501, anyone try these?

I've got a 95 with the older style rims. I'm finding tires in this size to be limited at best. When I was a motorcycle messenger (about 15 years back) I used Dunlop K591 tires and they worked well.

Now Dunlop has a GT501 and I was hoping some of you have tried them?

    Thanks.

120/70-17ft and 150/70-17rr, is the size recommendations. Best tire, well that a lot like bellybuttons, everybody has one. Metzeler Z6 seems to be liked by many here. Pirelli Diablo Stradas, Continental Forces and Road Attacks, and Avon Storms all come recommended.

      Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

there not bad, not the best I've had, but not the worst either.
just keep in mind the gt501's are a bias ply, so they wont last, or perform quite as well as a radial tire generally will.
Some days your the bug.....Some days your the windshield.

Thanks guys, I went with the Z6 120/70/17&150/70/17

Funny thing was that that I found a Metzeler rim chart and they recommend a 110/70/17 and a 150/70/17 on my 95 rims.

I would think that the 120 in front would be ok but the 150 in the rear would be too wide.

The pre 98 750 comes stock with a 150 on the same rim. The pre 600's come with a 140 because they're down on power, the 150 is fine.
