  • Pre 98 Solo Seat Cowl

I know that Braada has there setup on here of the post 98 cowl, which is perfectly fine. But I have seen alot of request for Pre98 Solo Seat Cowls....

If you guys/girls will let me know exactly what everyone is looking for (pictures, what models to fit it on "600/750/1100), I can see what I can do in terms of helping everyone out in having the "Big Guys" make it happen for manufacturing.

If there are any ABS pieces that people are looking to have built as well, and if there is a strong enough market, let me know and I'll be happy to make it happen!

I'm pretty sure Suzuki owns the patent on pre 98 600 cowls.

I'm talking cowls not targa caps. I know braada use to make it, not sure do they make it anymore? But is there an interest for that? thanks

Braada's were for 750's, which have a different seat setup than the 600's. If you look through the former KOTM winners, you will see a Braada pre 750 cowl. I can't make it any more obvious than that for you.

and can you guess why Braada didn't make pre 98 600 cowls? BECAUSE SUZUKI OWNS THE PATENT

If I remember correctly it had nothing to do with SUZUKI OWNING THE PATENT, but the fact that both targa, and suzuki both making one, so Jim making one, taking manufacturing time away from the 98+ cowl, and competing against them just didn't make business sense.

            I say have at'er impact.

But Braada no longer makes the pre 98 750 one? Was there not a need or just decided to do just the 98+. Thanks for the replies

You can't patent a seat cowl..
Not for a Katana 600 between the years 88-97.. That might be a copy write..

Impact. Before drumming up business here can you check with the owners please?

It wasn't for creating business, I was just asking if there were still people looking for them, and if they are still made. Thanks and if anyone is still interested in them let me know.

considering airtech makes them, I don't think getting one is a problem.

If anyone is interested, I finished my production mold for pre 98 cowls a couple weeks ago. I'll make an official announcement with finished photos in my vendor forum soon, but if anyone is interested in the mean time, feel free to drop me a PM.

The pre 98 600 cowls are pretty cheap through airtech (fibre glass) so I would recomend a different design or a low low price. There really aren't any options for the pre 750 market, so that would be a good start.

i agree, if you can actually make them cheaper, and perhaps cooler, then i'm sure that will appeal to very big pre market, but for legal concerns, i'd try and do some homework on actually mass producing them i.e. patents, copyright, etc...etc..

If a pail happens to look cool when turned upside down and used as a solo cowl how can there be any legal concerns
